Psalms 23:4

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." - Psalms 23:4

The Lord our God is always with us even when the situation seems hopeless. With Him by our side, we need not fear any evil. The second part of the verse compares God to our shepherd and us as His sheep. His rod and His staff comfort us since a sheperd uses His rod to guide His sheep on the right path, the same way God will lead us with His rod and His staff onto the right path.
